Privacy policy

The short version

I am a sole trader running a small riding-coaching business on my own. I collect the details you give me so I can coach you, get back to you, and send you an invoice. I do not sell your information to anyone, and I do not send marketing you did not ask for.

This page explains that properly.

Who I am

TG Equestrian is a registered business name of Tania Greenwood, ABN 22 321 844 951, of 8 Saintly Court, Kelso QLD 4815.

If you want to talk to somebody about your information, you are talking to me. There is no support desk and no one else who handles it.

What I collect, and when

When you enquire. Your name, the phone number or email address you want me to reply on, roughly where you and your horse are, something about your horse, your riding experience, and what you would like help with. You choose how much of that to tell me.

When I coach you. The address where the lessons happen, which is usually your home or where you agist. Notes about how you and your horse are going, so that a lesson picks up where the last one left off.

When you pay me. Your name, your contact details and the amount, which are handled by Hnry rather than by me directly. I do not see or store your card or bank details.

I do not collect anything about you that you have not given me, and I do not buy information about you from anyone.

What I do not collect

This website does not track you. As at the date below it sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from another company's servers. The typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font network. There is no advertising pixel, no session recording and no "people who viewed this also viewed" anything.

That is unusually plain for a website and it is deliberate. If it ever changes, this section changes first.

Who else sees it

Only these, and only because the business cannot run without them:

• Microsoft hosts the email that my enquiries and messages arrive in. Worth knowing, and I would rather say it than not: that mailbox sits in a Microsoft 365 tenant operated by VMAAS Australia Pty Ltd, the agency that built and looks after this site for me. They administer the mailbox. They do not use what is in it for anything of their own.
• Hnry handles my invoicing, payments and tax. If you book a lesson, your name and contact details go to them so they can invoice you.
• Cloudflare sits in front of this website and handles its security and its domain records, so it processes the ordinary technical information any web request carries, such as your IP address.
• Google hosts this website and runs the Business Profile you may have found me through. A review you leave on Google is public and is governed by Google's own terms, not mine.

Nobody else. I do not use an advertising network, a mailing-list provider or a customer-management system, because there is one of me and I read every enquiry myself.

I will also share information if the law requires it, or if I genuinely need to in order to get somebody medical help.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that never turn into lessons: I clear these out once it is obvious nothing is happening.

Client records: while you are riding with me, and then for five years, because that is how long a sole trader is required to keep business records for tax purposes. That obligation sits above my preference, so I cannot delete records inside that window even if asked.

Asking for a copy, or asking me to delete it

Email or ring me and ask. You do not need a form or a reason.

• A copy of what I hold about you.
• A correction, if something is wrong.
• Deletion, which I will do unless the five-year tax rule above means I have to keep it, in which case I will tell you plainly which parts I have to keep and why.

I will get back to you within a few days. If you are not happy with how I have handled it, tell me first, and if that gets nowhere you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

I coach riders of every age, including children. Where a rider is under 18, I deal with a parent or guardian and it is their consent I rely on.

Where this policy stands legally

I am a sole trader and my turnover is well under $3 million a year, so I am generally not covered by the Privacy Act. I have written this anyway, because you are handing your details to somebody who is going to turn up at your property, and you are entitled to know what happens to them.

Changes

If I change how any of this works, I will change this page and update the date below. If the change is a significant one, I will say so rather than quietly edit it.
